Dear Simon,
As a former N.C.A.A. Division I tennis player, I have been fortunate during my career that I have never had any lower extremity pathology that prevented me from playing the game of tennis. Thus, although orthotics play an important role in my practice, I actually never had a reason to wear them . But, in preparation for the World Maccabiah Games in Israel in July of 2005, I began to experience more pain along the peroneal tendon posterior to my right ankle and along the lateral portion of my right foot. Unfortunately, over-the-counter orthotics, ice, anti-inflammatory medications, etc. did little to help my pain . My dream of winning a medal in the 2005 Maccabiah Games was fading before my knowledgeable eyes. So, in June, I contacted your office , mailed you my casts and soon received a pair of your orthotics .
When I arrived in Israel on July 8th, I was still unsure if I could withstand a week or more of tennis . But, as I began to play, it was quite obvious that my right foot/ankle pain was minimal and improving with each day. Your CMOs , that I just received in June , were making a major difference . Although, I did not advance to the medal round in singles, I won a silver medal in the 40 & over Mixed Doubles (with Marianne Caplan) event eventually losing to former touring professionals , Shlomo Glickstein and Ilana Berger, in the finals .
From one podiatrist to another, thank you for making this most rewarding experience possible.
Sincerely,
Alex Kor,DPM,MS
